Arts Jobs Presentation Evaluation

Arts Jobs Presentation Evaluation

WHAT WENT WELL:

  1. The way the PowerPoint was layed out was interesting and thought about a lot, as it was very different from just having words on a page and there were different text sizes, shapes and fonts.
  2. There were lots of pictures on the presentation relevant to what was written which made the PowerPoint more interesting for the audience to listen to.
  3. The information itself was detailed and a lot of research had been done so that we knew what we were talking about and were not simply just reading it off a screen for the most part.
  4. Some of us spoke more freely so that we were not just reciting words which makes the audience feel more involved as we could take our eyes off the screen and speak to the audience directly.
  5. Some of us spoke with enthusiasm and made sure that we were not speaking in a monotone voice, so the presentation was better received by the audience and kept them interested.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN IMPROVED:

  1. The workload in preparation for the presentation could have been more evenly split up so that everyone was doing the same amount of work for the final product.
  2. We could have used cue cards or memorised our words better so that we didn't need to read off the slides so much and we could then make our focus more outward towards the audience.
  3. We could have included a game towards the end of the presentation to make it more interesting and exciting for the audience to listen to, and it would have allowed them to participate more as well.
  4. Some people could have tried to speak more fluently as opposed to reading the words exactly as they were written, as it makes the presentation quite boring and hard to listen to.
  5. We could have included a handout so that the audience could have had a greater participation.

OVERALL:

Overall, I think the presentation was successful as we did do a lot of research and we knew what we were talking about, having completed all the work. However, I think it could have been a lot more effective had we rehearsed the presentation better because it could have run smoother if everyone had known exactly what they were doing. It also could have run smoother if we had cue cards or had known in more detail what was on the slides so that we could have dealt with the issue that we couldn't see the board very clearly on the screen in a much smoother and more efficient way.
